Alongside his design practice, Berteau is Creative Director of ABV, RVB and OBJEKTEN SYSTEMS, and teaches product design at CAD in Brussels. From 2003 to 2013, he was a professor at La Cambre School of Arts. Vito Boox is a visual artist and designer working at the intersection of digital production and traditional craftsmanship. His work draws from natural processes such as growth, erosion, and decay to propose a contemporary language of neo-ornamentalism, where form carries narrative and nature shapes meaning.
Datsu is a sculptural furniture collection designed by Vito Boox for Van Rossum. Rooted in the logic of natural growth processes, each piece translates the quiet complexity of a growing tree into solid form. Born through a digital design process and realised with traditional craftsmanship, the collection carries an organic presence that blurs the line between furniture and sculpture, bringing a surreal and contemporary sense of nature into each interior.

Aspiring to create things that are simple, beautiful and functional, Indian design and architecture practice Case Design, with founder and principal Samuel Barclay at the helm, creates situationally grounded spaces and objects. With careful consideration to human interaction and contemporary life, the studio’s work explores the design process through acts of making, collaborating closely with makers, artists and technicians in its proximity. Firm in its belief that objects and spaces have the ability to deeply impact our relationship with the world around us, the studio’s inspiration stems from observations from everyday life. Barclay’s and Van Rossum’s mutual love for wood and craftsmanship has resulted in Adjacencies, a collection of rustic solid oak coffee tables that were introduced in 2020.

A true advocate of craft tradition, French autodidactic designer Christophe Delcourt spent several years of his career working closely with French craftsmen and cabinet makers in the pursuit to hone his craft before setting up his namesake studio in 1996. Nature – evidently mirrored in shapes, textures and colours – is Delcourt’s main source of inspiration for his work. Delcourt’s instinctive and soulful use of materials and colours is manifested in his understated elegant designs which display warmth, emotion and sartorial-like attention to detail. The Abi collection for Van Rossum exhibits the relaxed yet refined expression that Delcourt is known for.

Sensuality meets rigour in French interior designer Xavier Dohr’s body of work. Using subtle contrasting colours and materials and silhouettes that seemingly defy gravity, he conceives strong, characterful pieces that elude a particular time period or style. Dohr’s unique aesthetic derives from his former profession as a fashion designer, dressing furniture in a similar fashion in which he would dress the human body. Honouring the innate characteristics of a chosen material while also animating its volume through the interplay of lines and volumes, Dohr’s work for Van Rossum shows the designer’s unique point of view. His collection Kitale is a prime example.

A tension between precision and poetry defines the work of Studio KO. Founded by Karl Fournier and Olivier Marty, the studio moves between architecture, design and interiors with a rare fluency. Their practice is guided by contrast – between weight and lightness, rawness and refinement – and grounded in an intuitive sensitivity to place. From their studios in Paris and Marrakech, Studio KO’s founders draw from a broad cultural palette. Their compositions reveal a love of material in its most honest state – stone, wood, metal – and a deliberate restraint that allows form and proportion to take the lead.
With projects spanning continents and typologies, the duo have shaped a powerful design language rooted in texture, geometry and atmosphere. With the CAIRN collection for Van Rossum, the duo translate their architectural language into sculptural, monolithic furniture.

Niko Koronis’s work is defined by a commitment to material experimentation and a rigorous, process-driven approach bridging speculative art and functional design. For Van Rossum, this language is distilled to its essentials, with wood as the main protagonist. Stripped of embellishment, the material is allowed to perform in its purest state. The aesthetic is simple yet assertive, articulated through linear geometries intrinsic to his practice. Central to the work is an emphasis on joinery: each element is resolved through precision-crafted interlocking systems, eliminating the need for screws or glue and foregrounding the integrity of the material itself.

A simple feeling or a deep fascination for a certain shape or detail is the typical starting point for Belgian designer Pieter Maes’s works. Sculptural and highly tactile, their forms are often inspired by ancient artefacts from all corners of the world, conceived through the use of contemporary technologies and then materialised through the traditional know-how of master craftsmen. The pieces crafted by Paris-based Maes, which fall between design and art, are the result of his divergent thinking; sometimes in compliance with traditional and rational ideals of a piece of furniture, and sometimes denouncing these ideals for the sake of conveying a particular feeling. A case in point is the Bracci armchair, which was designed to express the notion of an embrace.

Coming from a long line of carpenters and furniture-makers, Italian architect and designer Andrea Tognon’s works are born at the intersection of architecture and design through the observation of how forms and spaces can communicate emotions and convey identity values. His Milan studio pursues each project through a process of painstaking research and exploration, seeking and capturing the nearly intangible essence of a brand and masterfully bringing it to life in spaces, objects and designs. Tognon’s approach to furniture making is to challenge the archetypal idea of a piece of furniture, deconstructing it to its basic elements and re-envisioning it in a new form, at which point it transcends being a mere object. His designs form a captivating interplay with the viewer, and with the settings in which they feature. Van Rossum’s 2021 GOT collection showcases his rare take on furniture.

The FLEET collection finds its origin in a moment of observation at a sea port. Drawn to the commanding presence of cargo ships, it was the powerful silhouette of a vessel’s bow that informed the initial gesture. This sense of scale and direction is translated into a refined and tactile expression, where strength is softened through material and form.
