Aspiring to create things that are simple, beautiful and functional, Indian design and
architecture practice Case Design, with founder and principal Samuel Barclay at the
helm, creates situationally grounded spaces and objects. With careful consideration to
human interaction and contemporary life, the studio’s work explores the design process
through acts of making, collaborating closely with makers, artists and technicians in its
proximity.
Firm in its belief that objects and spaces have the ability to deeply impact our
relationship with the world around us, the studio’s inspiration stems from observations
from everyday life. Barclay’s and Van Rossum’s mutual love for wood and
craftsmanship has resulted in Adjacencies, a collection of rustic solid oak coffee tables
that were introduced in 2020.
